Meet Annie!
Annie is a spirited almost five-year-old German Shepherd with a beautiful sable coat, weighing around 55 pounds. She's a lively blend of intelligence, loyalty, and boundless outdoor joy. Annie is bright, curious, and brings the classic Shepherd spirit to life with every step she takes through the woods, every butterfly she chases, and every joyful twirl under the open sky! She is wonderfully smart, has completed formal obedience training, and confidently responds to commands like sit, stay, and down. Annie is also crate trained and often chooses her crate as her own cozy retreat, showing just how adaptable and thoughtful she can be. Whether it's a car ride adventure or a playful afternoon with her favorite people, Annie thrives on connection and activity, adjusting easily to daily routines and loving to be part of her caregivers' lives.
Ideal Home
This energetic girl truly comes alive outdoors! Wide open spaces, fresh air, and room to run and explore are where Annie shines brightest. She would be so happy in a home with a securely fenced yard or a rural setting where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her favorite pastime of exploring nature. Annie needs a single-pet, child-free environment with minimal visiting animals. She is not compatible with other dogs or cats.
Ongoing Health
Annie requires a family prepared to support her special care needs. She has been diagnosed with Ventricular Premature Contraction (VPC), a heart condition that makes anesthesia unsafe and is why she has not been spayed. She also has a past seizure history, though she has not had any recent episodes.
Training & Support
Annie would benefit from an experienced German Shepherd pet parent who understands her need for structure, positive reinforcement, and thoughtful guidance. While Annie can show interest in playing with other dogs, she can become overwhelmed quickly and may react in ways that require careful management, including a past incident where she harmed another dog who entered her space. She would thrive with a confident caregiver who can provide consistent boundaries, recognize her signals, and support her with ongoing training and behavior guidance.
