Dagger is a delightful 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs 40 pounds and is expected to grow into a large dog. She was rescued from the woods with her mother, Wanda, and littermates and has since been thriving in a loving foster home. Dagger is named for the distinctive dagger-shaped white marking on her neck, a cute reminder of her puppy days when her "shark teeth" were as sharp as her name! Now, her nibbles are nothing but sweet affections. She's a fantastic blend of playful energy and cuddle bug, always ready for an adventure but equally happy to curl up in your lap. Dagger is curious, confident, and a social butterfly, often the last to finish playing. She's friendly with strangers, wags her tail enthusiastically, and enjoys playing with other dogs, having grown up with her siblings. She has also been around children and done well.
Ideal Home
Dagger is a talented escape artist, so her future family should be aware and ensure enclosures are secure. She thrives on continued socialization and would benefit from a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help guide her. If you don't currently have a dog, please share your plan for ongoing positive canine interactions, such as training classes or playdates. As she is still young, Dagger would do best in a home where someone is not away for more than four to six hours at a time, allowing for regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and training.

Dagger is potty trained and is continuing to learn about the world. She will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Continued socialization and a canine role model in the home are highly recommended for her development.
