Bugsy

Bugsy is a 5-year-old, 22-pound beagle with a heart full of joy, despite a rough start. He's a gentle, affectionate soul who thrives on companionship, whether it's with his humans or another canine friend. Bugsy is impeccably house-trained and a master of the dog door. He enjoys playful zoomies in a secure, fenced yard and is content to nap, watch the world go by, or cuddle up with his favorite toys. Evening snuggles are his favorite way to wind down. Bugsy is a fantastic travel companion, enjoying car rides and sleeping soundly in a dog bed. He's also trustworthy when left unsupervised, as long as tempting chew items are out of reach, and he doesn't particularly care for crates. Walks are a work in progress, but he gains confidence with a canine buddy by his side.

Ideal Home

Bugsy would do best in a home with a friendly, resident dog to help him feel more confident on walks. He also needs a securely fenced yard to safely explore and play. He has enjoyed the company of children and would be a wonderful addition to an active, loving family.

Ongoing Health

Bugsy has successfully completed heartworm treatment and will require a retest in October, along with year-round monthly prevention. He also tested positive for Lyme, ehrlichia, and anaplasmosis and completed a course of doxycycline with no lingering symptoms.

Training & Support

Bugsy is still gaining confidence on walks and benefits from the support of another dog. He is already house-trained and has excellent indoor manners.

Transportation

Bugsy is currently located in one of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI) and transportation can be arranged to approved adopters.
