Charles

Meet Charles, a handsome 17-month-old Mountain Cur and German Shepherd mix who weighs in at a sturdy 68 lbs. Charles is a friendly and sweet boy who enjoys his walks. He has a lot of love to give, especially to his grandfather, with whom he has a wonderful bond. Charles comes with his crate, preventative flea and heartworm treatments, and his favorite toys.

Ideal Home

Charles can be anxious around small children due to their unpredictable nature. While he is currently living with a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old, he is most comfortable with children aged 6 and above. He also has a tendency to nip at strangers out of fear, which is characteristic of the Mountain Cur breed. A home with an adult who understands his breed's instincts and can provide a calm and predictable environment would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Charles is currently on Prozac to help manage his anxiety, which is exacerbated by his proximity to the youngest child in his current home.

Training & Support

Due to his anxiety, Charles sleeps in his crate at night. He is a smart boy who will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and a consistent routine. Understanding his breed's protective instincts and providing him with a secure and loving environment will be key to his success.
