Lumi

Lumi is a sweet 2.5-year-old Husky who found herself in a difficult situation at a high-kill shelter but was rescued just in time and brought to us. She's a quiet observer and has shown to be a good leash walker. Lumi is currently receiving treatment for heartworms, and we're looking for a loving foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can rest and recover.

Ideal Home

Lumi needs a calm home where she can focus on healing. During her heartworm treatment, she'll need a quieter lifestyle with plenty of rest, cuddles, and relaxation. Activity restriction is temporary but crucial for her recovery.

Ongoing Health

Lumi is heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. Heartworm disease is treatable, and dogs who complete treatment typically live long, healthy lives. Heartworms are spread only through mosquito bites, not from dog-to-dog contact, so your current pets are safe.

Training & Support

Lumi is described as quiet and observant. She walks well on a leash. She needs patience, love, and a safe place to heal.

Lumi is located in Blue Springs, MO. Foster homes can be on either side of the state line as long as they are within an hour of Blue Springs, MO.
