Meet Ty! This handsome 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix is a big lovable guy with a stellar personality and a heart full of love. Ty has a zest for life and gets excited often, showing off a smile when he does! He's light on his feet, playful with both humans and other dogs, and loves to be included in whatever is going on, whether it's a hike, a car ride, or simply spending time with his people. His DNA results show he's 52% Weimaraner with American Foxhound, Siberian Husky, and a touch of Chow Chow. Ty is an excellent traveler and happy whether riding shotgun or resting in his crate.
Ideal Home
Ty does best with female pups or male dogs smaller than his 70lb frame. His sweet, buoyant nature makes him a wonderful match for families with active kids, and he'd also be the perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. A securely fenced backyard is a must for Ty to enjoy the outdoors. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
Training & Support
Ty is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash, but his hound heritage means his nose sometimes takes charge if he catches an interesting scent. Continued leash training will help him stay focused on the walk. He already knows how to sit on command, especially if there's a treat involved, and is eager to keep learning.

Transportation
Ty is currently in South Mississippi. We offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. Transport to Hagerstown arrives early on a Saturday morning. The adoption fee includes transport. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
