About Comet Good Shepherd

Comet is a 4-month-old German Shepherd mix with a sleek black coat, tan paws, and a darling white spot on his chest and chin. He’s the most reserved of his litter, initially preferring to observe new people and environments from a distance. Comet came to us from the Galveston shelter with his siblings and has been learning what it means to feel safe and loved in a foster home. He takes his time to warm up, but once he trusts you, his gentle and affectionate nature shines through. He enjoys snuggling close and being near his favorite people.

Ideal Home

Comet will thrive in a home that offers patience, consistency, and a gentle approach. He is comfortable around adults and does well with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Comet is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP vaccinations with boosters, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. He has also received multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has had a heartworm test and is microchipped with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Comet is kennel trained and sleeps through the night, having adjusted well to home life. He is still learning how to respond to corrections but is making steady progress with guidance. He is a fairly quiet puppy who only occasionally barks when excited about food or treats, and he's working on improving this.
