Meet Jasper!
This soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix is a stunning 70-pound merle boy with a calm, loving heart. Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. He thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He’s a mellow guy who doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his clever brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even “middle”. He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and perfectly content when left alone, making him a great match for someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule. While Jasper doesn’t require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks where he can take in the world at his own pace. His favorite pastime? Being in the same room as you, soaking up your presence like sunshine!
Ideal Home
Jasper would do best with calm or older children who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He’s happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet.

Training & Support
Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know due to past traumatic incidents. He may bark or lunge when he sees unfamiliar dogs, especially near fences or in close proximity. He continues to work through this with training and patient support. He has done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing that he can feel safe with the right structure and trust. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily.
