Flora is a playful and energetic 3-year-old Carolina Dog mix who weighs 46 pounds. She is a loving dog who enjoys wrestling and being chased, and she would do well with a family who enjoys an active lifestyle. Flora adores playing with other dogs and has experience with a variety of sizes and energy levels. She is a total love bug and enjoys snuggling, but she can be a bit of a work in progress. Flora is house-trained and does well unsupervised outside of a crate. She is also a smart girl who loves learning new tricks and is very submissive and affectionate.
Ideal Home
Flora would do best in a home with a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level, or as the only pet. She would also do best in an adult household as she can be nervous around new children. Her ideal owner will be home often, enjoy walks or jogs, and play fetch with her.
Ongoing Health
Flora has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Flora has shown some leash reactivity, such as raised hackles, whimpering, and barking, but her foster parents have been working with her on this. She can also be nervous around new people and tends to bark at them, especially if they move quickly. Flora has demonstrated some anxiety in a crate at home, but does well when boarded. She needs consistent positive reinforcement training to help her with her leash skills and to feel safe around new stimuli. She also needs reminders to take treats gently.
