Sneakers is a sweet girl who is incredibly responsive to training, not only with treats but also with praise, because she's truly a good girl! She is completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She's gentle with her stuffed animals and loves biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats, though she's not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day to help burn off energy.
Ideal Home
Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. She needs time and patience to build trust. She bonds quickly with women but is slower to trust men. She would do best in a home with older kids as she is a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail. She should not be placed in a home with cats due to prey drive and best as the only dog as she has shown nervous behavior around others. Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who'll give her space and support as she decompresses.
Ongoing Health
Sneakers has been spayed, is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for heartworm, microchipped, dewormed, and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
Training & Support
Sneakers has shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure, especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She bonds deeply once she trusts. She loves tummy rubs, hand-holding, walks in the park, sunbathing, and taking treats gently.
