My name is Alpha, and I'm a handsome gentleman who's approximately 7-8 years young. I'm neutered, up-to-date on my vaccines, and microchipped. My journey to find my forever home has been a bit of a winding road. Back in 2019, my best friend and I found ourselves abandoned outside a boarding facility. Thankfully, we were rescued and eventually made our way to Montreal in 2021. My best friend found her loving home first, and I even had a stint with her before finding another foster family who adopted me. I've had some challenges with reactivity in the past, but my previous family worked so hard with a trainer to help me manage it, and I did wonderfully! I even went to a board and train program and excelled. Sadly, with the arrival of a new baby in the home, my reactivity towards the wife and baby became an issue, and my family can no longer keep me. I'm ready for a calm, experienced, and loving home where I can truly flourish.
Ideal Home
I would do best as an only dog in a calm home, ideally with a single female or a couple. My new family should be experienced with reactive dogs and understand the need to give me space and time. Due to my unpredictable reactions to sudden movements, homes with no children are best.

I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Training & Support
I have a history of reactivity with some dogs and people, but my previous family worked diligently with a trainer to manage this very well. The trainer recommends new adopters be experienced, ready to train me gradually and calmly, and respect rules regarding guests. I can be introduced to the trainer who worked with me to ensure continuity of my training.
