About Brick

Brick is a loving, protective, and goofy 7-year-old, 103-lb neutered male German Shepherd. He is healthy and up-to-date on core vaccinations. Brick is friendly with most people, though he can be wary of loud and assertive men, responding with barking but never aggression. He is protective of his person and will bark at strangers who approach them. While he hasn't shown aggression towards men, his protective nature means he needs a home where his new family understands and can manage this. Brick is good with other dogs, generally submissive, and gets along wonderfully with small dogs, living with two Chihuahua mixes. He is also fine with resident cats but does have a prey drive for cats he sees outside. Brick is fully housetrained, can be left alone for several hours, and sleeps inside. He has a fear of fireworks, which his current person manages with mild sedation. Brick walks well on a leash, is non-reactive to other dogs unless they bark at him, and has excellent off-leash recall. He loves car rides and is a polite passenger. His favorite activities include playing fetch and interacting with his stuffed animals. Brick also seems to enjoy water. His current person is rehoming him due to a no-pets-of-his-size policy at her new rental. He is currently with a temporary foster who can only keep him until September 30th.

Ideal Home

A home with no young children, as Brick is very large and could potentially knock them down. His new family should be able to manage his protective nature towards strangers.
