Meet Moose — the boy behind the fear. Moose is a 3-year-old, 25-pound pup who came to us in heartbreaking condition. His coat was so severely matted it formed dreadlocks, a clear sign he had been neglected for far too long. Underneath all of that was a dog who simply hadn't been shown kindness... yet still wants it so badly. The world hasn't been very gentle with him, and he's still figuring out that he's finally safe and where he fits in. But little by little, we're seeing glimpses of who he truly is—the soft eyes, the quiet lean-in for affection, the way he wants to trust. We know that playful, relaxed Moose is in there. He just needs someone willing to help him find his way back. If you have the heart to help a dog heal, Moose will give you something truly special in return.
Ideal Home
Moose is looking for a calm, patient home where he can decompress and learn what love feels like without pressure. We do not recommend a home with young children, as he needs a slower, more predictable environment while he builds confidence.
Ongoing Health
Moose will require ongoing grooming. Initially, he may need sedation for grooming due to his fear, but with consistency, kindness, and time, this will improve. His adoption donation of $200 includes his neuter, vaccines, and microchip.
Training & Support
Due to his "shell," we are unsure if he gets along with other dogs. We are open to a meet and greet with another small dog.
