Yogi is a 5-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, around 63 pounds, with a beautiful chestnut coat and a sweet, slightly wrinkled face that always looks like she’s smiling. She has a calm and grounded presence, forming strong bonds with her people. Yogi is the type of dog who just wants to be near you, keeping you company. She’s friendly and loving, though she may take a moment to warm up to new faces. Once she does, she’s affectionate, fun, and incredibly easy to be around, settling in quickly and becoming part of your routine without any fuss. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash with just occasional reminders, and is low-maintenance and adaptable. Yogi has a moderate energy level; she enjoys daily walks and playtime but is just as happy relaxing at home. She would do well in a house or apartment as long as she gets regular exercise.
Ideal Home
Yogi would do best in a home with older, respectful children and with someone who appreciates a dog that bonds deeply and wants to be part of your world. She can also thrive as an only dog.
Ongoing Health
Yogi is currently heartworm positive and has started treatment. She will need a committed adopter who can continue her care. Otherwise, she is a healthy, wonderful dog.
Training & Support
Yogi is fully potty trained and crate trained. She walks well on a leash with just occasional reminders. She can be a bit selective with other dogs, doing best with calmer, easygoing dogs and preferring one-on-one interactions over busy group settings. She has been exposed to cats and did well.
