Junior Bear is a 6-year-old, 50 lb Great Pyrenees/Lab mix with the most endearingly goofy and expressive face you've ever seen! He looks like a wise old grandpa combined with a fluffy polar bear, and his tongue often peeks out as if he has important things to say. When he first arrived, he was in rough shape, but his coat is now growing back beautifully, making him cuter by the day. He's a gentle soul who warms up slowly, but with soft voices and patience, he blossoms into a cuddly companion. He enjoys quiet companionship, naps, and leisurely walks, and would do well in a quieter home with a small yard.
Ideal Home
Junior would thrive in a home with patient and understanding individuals who are willing to give him time to build trust. He would do best with lower to medium energy, respectful dogs who will give him space. He has also shown to be good with cats. A home with access to a small yard would be beneficial for his comfort and confidence.
Ongoing Health
Junior Bear is a rescue dog, and while we believe him to be around 6 years old, we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Training & Support
Junior needs time to settle into new environments and people. Baby talk and soft encouragement work wonders to help him feel safe. He can become uncomfortable with too much touch too quickly, so it's important to approach him calmly and respectfully. He is crate trained and quiet in the home. He walks well on leash with gentle guidance, but can freeze if there's too much pressure.
