Who's tiny, white, curly, and extra fluffy? Well, that's Oscar Mayer for you! Oscar is a great boy who is learning the ways of the world. We estimate him to be about 3 years old, and he's about 15 pounds of pure lap dog. While we guess his roots might be Maltese Chihuahua, breed is never guaranteed in rescue!
Oscar is currently in a loving foster home where he's having a great time learning about toys, treats, and all things good. He's been a pleasure to see blossom into a playful little guy. He's even gentle with his much older foster siblings, taking corrections well. Oscar and his foster siblings often play "musical bowls," sharing their food at meal times with no issues! He's a lover of comfort, often found on the couch or his cozy dog bed, and he enjoys snuggling up with his new family members, always sitting on the porch with them to enjoy the evening. Oscar would make a perfect morning coffee buddy, watching you make breakfast, or enjoying the sunrise or sunset with you. He is so thankful to be saved and will be your loyal companion, falling hard for you once he trusts you.
Ideal Home
Oscar would do best in a home with a yard because he loves being outside so much. Although we haven't seen Oscar with kids yet, we believe older children would be best for this timid guy, as he prefers to take things slow and craves calmness and routine. Gentleness and respect for his boundaries are key. We haven't seen him with cats, but we believe he'd be okay with them, though he might want to play eventually. If you'd like us to cat test him, just ask!

Oscar is trusted to free roam in the house and sleeps in his foster's bed at night. He enjoys sitting on the porch with his foster siblings and is a great companion for quiet mornings or evenings.

Oscar is located in Texas and can be transported to various locations nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Pickup locations for Canadian adopters include Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
