About Joan

Hello there! I'm Joan, a sweet, two-year-old girl weighing about 25 pounds. My soft white coat has lovely tan patches that make me look like a work of art. I'm a bit of a gentle soul with a curious and hopeful spirit, and I'm ready to find my forever home. I come from a larger family, and we all found ourselves at a shelter in California when our lives took an unexpected turn. While that was a bit scary, I've kept my optimism and am eager for a fresh start.

I'm currently staying at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where the wonderful volunteers have been so kind to me. They say I'm one of the "light-colored girls," and I do enjoy gentle pets and calm voices. I'm friendly and social, but I'm still learning about the human world. Indoor life is new to me – I'm figuring out things like couches, hallways, and walking on a leash. Words like "sit" and "stay" are also a work in progress, but I'm a smart girl who's eager to learn with a patient human by my side. I promise to give you my whole heart and do my very best!

I'm not a noisy or high-energy dog. I prefer to be a calm, steady companion who observes before jumping into new situations. Once I feel safe and know you're kind, I warm up quickly and love to be close. I haven't met cats or small children yet, so I'm not sure how I'd do with them, but I do wonderfully with gentle humans who give me time to adjust.

Ideal Home

A quiet and patient home where I can learn and grow at my own pace. A place where I can feel safe and loved.

Ongoing Health

I've been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I'm all set for my next adventure!

Training & Support

I'm still learning about indoor living and basic commands like leash walking, sit, and stay. Patience and positive reinforcement will be key to my success.
