Hi, I'm Jerry! I'm a gentle, soft-hearted husky mix with big brown eyes that are full of hope for a brighter future. I'm still young and full of potential, and I'm looking for a loving, safe home where I can blossom. I have a special bond with my sister, Janis – we're a package deal and need to be adopted together. She brings me comfort and courage, and we love to play and relax side-by-side.
Because I can be a bit fearful at first due to limited early exposure to people, I do best in a calm environment. With a confident dog companion and a patient human, I know I'll continue to grow. I've made great strides with crate training and am learning to use a dog door to go outside independently. I'm a bit rambunctious and have a history of getting into soft toys, so tough toys are a must for me!
Ideal Home
I'd do wonderfully in a calm, adult household with a fenced yard and another confident dog who is kind and not too pushy. I'm not a good match for homes with children, as sudden movements and noise can be overwhelming for me. I also have a strong prey drive, so no cats, please! Because I'm a jumper, fences under 6 feet won't do.
Ongoing Health
I've needed surgery in the past due to a history of getting into soft toys, so please stick to tough toys for me!
Training & Support
I'm still working on building my confidence and haven't started formal training yet, but I'm smart and eager to learn. I'm crate trained and sleep soundly overnight. I'm still learning housebreaking, so occasional accidents may happen as I adjust to a new routine. I know how to use a dog door and prefer familiar outdoor environments.
