Gio

Gio is a 78-pound black lab mix who is 4 years old and has perfected the art of the bear hug! This sweet, cuddly boy loves to wrap his front paws around you and will crawl into your lap once he knows you're a friend. Gio soaks up all the affection you have to give and is eager to be your new best friend. He loves walks, splashing in the water, and is great in the car. He's happy to chill out with his favorite humans after his adventures. Gio is excelling in obedience classes and is mastering leash walking. He's learning to manage his enthusiasm when meeting new friends and is making progress with his food guarding. Gio lives with older female dogs and respects their boundaries, but doesn't get along with the male foster dog. He hasn't been cat-tested but could potentially be feline-friendly with proper introductions. Gio is crate-trained and can be a chewer when bored, but is easily entertained with toys and activities.

Ideal Home

A home with female dogs or as the only dog would be the best fit for Gio. Homes with children 10 years and older are recommended.

Training & Support

Gio is working on managing his enthusiasm when meeting new friends and is making progress with food guarding. He can be a chewer when bored, so plenty of toys and activities are recommended. He will also receive a few training sessions before going to his forever home.
