Dex is a handsome 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart of gold! He's a smart, loyal, and affectionate young dog who forms deep bonds with his people. Dex is playful, intuitive, and happiest when he feels included and secure in his loving home. He loves to play, especially tug-of-war and fetch, and he gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. What makes him truly special is his ability to read social cues; if another dog isn't interested in playing, Dex immediately backs off, showing his patient, respectful, and thoughtful nature. On leash, Dex is a dream, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity towards other dogs. He's incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, and responds exceptionally well to training, clearly enjoying structure and having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily going into his crate when asked and sleeping through the night. He can also be left out in the house when his energy needs are met, remaining a well-behaved companion without destructive behaviors.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. He has a strong prey drive, so he is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. While he has been around children, he takes time to warm up and may growl when unsure. For this reason, he would do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries.

Dex is a bright and eager learner who responds well to training. Continuing his training will help him thrive. He is already house-trained and crate-trained and does not exhibit destructive behaviors when left alone, provided his energy needs are met.
