Dexter

Dexter is a 6-year-old mini poodle mix who weighs 25 lbs and has a moderate energy level. He's a big cuddler who loves to snuggle in laps, but he's also happy to entertain himself with toys and balls. Dexter is a great companion and will make a wonderful family dog, especially for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate friend.

Ideal Home

Dexter thrives in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play. He absolutely needs another dog at home with a similar energy level to keep him company and for playtime. He's good with older children but has no experience with cats, though he ignores them. He needs a confident leader with dog experience who can help him feel safe and build his confidence.

Ongoing Health

Dexter is up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Dexter is house-trained and generally well-behaved, though he can get overly excited and reactive when he sees other dogs on walks. He does not like crates but tolerates them. He needs ongoing training to help build his confidence and manage his leash reactivity. To support his transition, FurFriends will provide an initial 2-hour training session at Huffman K9 training in Canby.
