Lucky is a 7-year-old mixed breed dog who has been with us for a few months now. This handsome boy is energetic and loves outdoor walks – it's one of his favorite activities. He also enjoys his training sessions with our team, staying focused and eager to learn and participate. Lucky has already spent three months with a professional trainer, which has helped him make great strides in his behavior and socialization. He is crate-trained and enjoys the comfort of a bed or blanket, being quite the cozy boy.
Ideal Home
We recommend Lucky to be in a home with an active individual or couple who have experience with dogs. He would be best as the only dog in the household, as the presence of other dogs tends to cause him stress. Lucky can be timid when meeting new people, so it's important for his future owners to meet him several times to build a trusting bond.
Ongoing Health
Lucky has no ongoing health concerns to report.
Training & Support
When he first arrived, Lucky was reactive to people and dogs. He would get overly excited and was possessive of toys, unwilling to share or return them. He has made significant progress and is now able to work around other dogs, focusing on us during walks even with distractions. While there are still some areas to work on, he is a fast learner and will continue to improve over the coming weeks. We recommend having a crate at home to provide Lucky with a safe space when he feels stressed or overwhelmed. It will help him calm down. His future owners should be patient and give him time to adjust to his new environment. Physical exercise, enrichment activities, and chew toys are highly recommended. Lucky is already accustomed to frozen Kongs, chew bones, and puzzle mats on a daily basis. Using a muzzle voluntarily for visits to the vet, groomer, or any other stressful situations could also be beneficial.
