About Tessa

Tessa is a sweet, gentle, and deeply sensitive Lab mix puppy who came to us from a loud, overcrowded shelter where everything felt scary. She and her siblings would shut down in the chaos, but now that they are safe, they are slowly blossoming. Tessa is still timid with new people and environments, but with soft voices, slow movements, gentle hands, and calm routines, she is learning that humans can be safe, predictable, and kind. She loves toys, treats, and the comfort of being held. If you've been waiting for a chance to help a shy puppy truly start over, Tessa is ready for her new beginning. She may be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she melts into your arms and shows the softest, sweetest love.

Ideal Home

Tessa needs a patient adopter who understands shy puppies and can provide slow introductions to new experiences. A calm home without overwhelming chaos is essential, along with time, reassurance, and positive guidance. Another friendly dog would be a bonus, but not required. A fenced-in backyard is a must.

Ongoing Health

Tessa is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She will not be spayed before adoption; adopters will sign a spay/neuter agreement and may qualify for a $100 rebate once the procedure is completed.

Training & Support

Tessa currently uses a pet door for potty breaks, which helps her understand that potty happens outdoors. She uses a baby-gated area off the kitchen when she cannot be watched or no one is home. Adopters should be home during the day and able to devote consistent time to her. Crating is not recommended; a puppy pen or baby gate should be used for safe confinement.
