Meet Sammy Jo! This sweet 10-year-old Maltese boy has had a rough start, but his gentle spirit shines through. He's slowly learning to trust again and blossoming into the loving companion we know he is. Sammy Jo adores gentle pets and cuddles from his people. He's even starting to show his playful side, initiating games with other dogs in his foster home. He's a perfect gentleman indoors, fully potty-trained and a pro at using his crate as a safe space. He also does well with children who interact with him calmly and gently.

Ongoing Health

Sammy Jo has a collapsing trachea and requires medication twice daily. His new family must be committed to keeping him on this schedule to ensure his comfort and health.

Training & Support

Sammy Jo exhibits food aggression and requires structured feeding with clear, consistent boundaries. He must be fed separately, and his space around food needs to be respected. While he's making progress in learning to tolerate other dogs, he values his personal space, especially when food is involved or when other dogs are overly persistent. Proper introductions and ongoing management will be key.
