Elmo

Elmo is a sweet, resilient, and quietly brave 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who came to us after being shot in the hip. The bullet is lodged near his spine but has become encapsulated, and specialists have determined that removing it would be riskier than leaving it be. This condition does not define Elmo's future; he is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he does not need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. He enjoys walks, his people, and his canine friends. He would likely be fine with dog-savvy cats, as he showed only mild interest in them. We recommend children over 10 or sturdy children who are old enough to understand that Elmo needs gentle handling due to his medical history.

Ongoing Health

Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine that is encapsulated and will not be removed. This does not affect his health or comfort, and he is expected to live a long, happy life.

Training & Support

While Elmo is a normal, joyful dog, he should skip extreme sports and leaping activities for now. He has a particular appreciation for a high-quality dog bed where he can fully relax.
