Ruger

Meet Ruger! He's a spunky and handsome 4-year-old Doberman with a heart full of love to give. Ruger dreams of long walks, cozy nights in, and all the affection he can get. If you're looking for a devoted companion, this loving boy is your man – he loves to be right by your side! He's still learning the ropes of home living but is a playful pup who enjoys his toys, especially soccer balls! Ruger is working on his leash manners and eagerly awaits his weekly medicated baths, even hopping in himself to get clean.

Ideal Home

Ruger needs a home that understands his need for personal space and is looking for a Doberman who truly wants to be a "velcro" dog. While he has a special bond with his 12-year-old human brother, he's unsure about younger children and would do best in a home without them. He also needs to be in a cat-free environment as he's a little too interested in our feline friends. If you have other dogs, a slow introduction is a must, as Ruger likes to be the boss, although he does get along with his current Doberman housemate most of the time.

Ongoing Health

Ruger is currently undergoing treatment for valley fever and requires a weekly medicated bath. His fur is slowly growing back after losing it, and he's looking better every day! He has been fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Ruger is working on his leash skills and can sometimes bark at noises in the yard or things he sees on the street, though it's not excessive. He's learning to be a good boy and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and consistent routines.
