Milky Way is a charming 8.6 lb Chihuahua with a birthday of January 10, 2026. He's a playful, happy, and affectionate boy who loves to run and be part of the action. Milky Way is generally quiet and not much of a barker, letting his sweet personality shine through. He's comfortable sleeping in an open crate and views it as his safe space. Like many young dogs, he's curious and enjoys chewing, so he'll need patience and guidance as he matures. Milky Way and his siblings had a rough start, facing uncertainty and lacking basic necessities. Thankfully, they were rescued and given a second chance. Now, Milky Way is safe, loved, and searching for his forever family to shower with endless devotion.
Ideal Home
Milky Way would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals, and experience in dog behavior and training, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Milky Way has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test certificate, monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection, and a health certificate with a vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Milky Way is not house-trained and will require patience and guidance as he continues to mature and with his chewing habits. Adopters should understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt. Providing a safe, loving environment, establishing a routine, and offering clear boundaries will help build trust and strengthen the bond.

- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, vaccinations, microchipping, and food.
Transportation
Milky Way is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery, organizing 3-4 trips per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Our contracted transport company will escort pets across the border into Texas for US adoptions, or to the nearest US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions, with all necessary paperwork. A transport fee of $400 USD covers the journey. We'll keep you updated with photos and videos throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group.
