About Soley

Part-Time Retiree. Full-Time Sweetheart.

We're pretty sure Soley is the only one-year-old dog who's already thinking about early retirement. Every morning is the same conversation. "Come on, Soley... it's time to go outside." Five more minutes. "Soley..." Stretch. Big yawn. Tiny little sleepy snores. "Seriously... everybody else has already been outside." Eventually she agrees, but only because she's decided you're making a fair point. She's got the soul of somebody who's been enjoying slow Sunday mornings since 1987. The trainer who worked with Soley laughed and said she was basically a cat trapped in a dog's body. Honestly? That tracks. She has this wonderfully thoughtful personality. She doesn't rush into life. She likes to take things in, figure people out, and decide for herself what deserves her energy. Then, somewhere along the way, she quietly decides you're her person. And once she does, she's all in. She'll follow you into the kitchen, ride shotgun like she's been your co-pilot forever, and lean into you for tummy rubs which, by the way, rank somewhere near the top of her list of life's greatest achievements. She's incredibly affectionate... just without all the drama. Until someone hands her a toy. Then this peaceful little philosopher completely forgets she was pretending to be retired. Game over. She LOVES toys. She proudly carries them around, tosses them into the air, entertains herself for hours, and has the absolute best time. Unfortunately for the toy industry, she's exceptionally good at quality testing. Let's just say if a toy survives Soley, it's probably military grade. Buy the tough ones. Trust us. She's also incredibly smart. Soley recently attended a few training sessions and absolutely crushed them. She learns quickly, responds beautifully to gentle guidance, and genuinely enjoys figuring things out. The trainer couldn't stop laughing because she approached the lesson with this quiet confidence that felt much more like a cat than your typical young dog. Soley loves children, absolutely adores other dogs, and has one of the sweetest, gentlest play styles you'll ever see. She's happy to romp around with her dog friends, but she's just as content relaxing beside them afterward. She's fully potty trained, walks beautifully on leash with only an occasional reminder, and has one of those wonderfully balanced personalities that's becoming harder and harder to find. She'd love another dog to share life with, but she's adaptable enough to do beautifully as an only dog too. The funny thing about Soley is that she never demands a place in your heart. She just quietly earns one. One slow morning. One little snore. One destroyed toy. One belly rub at a time. Before you know it, you aren't encouraging Soley to get out of bed anymore. You're waiting for her because mornings just don't feel right until she's wakes up too. And somewhere along the way, this funny, gentle, old-soul puppy quietly becomes the dog you honestly can't imagine your life without. That's Soley.
