Dexter

Dexter is a sweet, high-energy 2-year-old neutered male Catahoula Hound mix. He's been with our rescue since he was a puppy and is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. Dexter is protective of his people and would likely do best as the only dog in the household. He was previously adopted, but returned because his energy levels were too much for a home with small grandchildren and limited space for him to run.

Ideal Home

Dexter needs an owner with acreage where he can run and explore to burn off his abundant energy. He would likely not do well in a home with small children or other pets due to his protective nature and high energy.

Ongoing Health

Dexter is up-to-date on vaccinations and is neutered.

Training & Support

Dexter is a high-energy dog who needs an outlet for his physical and mental stimulation. An active owner who can provide him with plenty of exercise and opportunities to explore will help him succeed.

Transportation

Dexter is currently located in Texarkana, Texas. Transportation is available once a month to Arnold, Missouri; Springfield, Illinois; Bloomington, Illinois; Rockford, Illinois; Lafayette, Indiana; and Madison, Wisconsin. The $75 transport fee is due to secure transport, and the remaining $100 adoption fee is due at pickup. You may also designate someone else to pick him up.
