Cookie is a gentle and loving Labrador mix with a sweet, loyal nature. She is a wonderful companion who enjoys being close to her people and brings calm, comforting energy to those around her. She gets along well with other dogs and children. Cookie is very noble, affectionate, and loyal, making her an excellent family dog. She can be a little nervous at times, especially in new situations, but with patience and kindness, she settles in and shows her trusting heart. One of Cookie’s favorite things is looking out the window. It makes her happy to watch the world go by, especially during car rides or quiet moments at home. Cookie was born underneath a house that was completely in ruins, during freezing, below-zero temperatures. Despite such a harsh beginning, she has grown into a resilient and loving dog who is ready for a safe, warm, and forever home.
Ideal Home
Cookie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be a great fit for her. Families with an open conscience about the rescue of street animals, and their need for protection and education, are encouraged to apply. Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, as well as high tolerance and patience for rescued pups.
Ongoing Health
Cookie has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated with DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella, and dewormed. She has tested negative for heartworm and has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Cookie is not house-trained. Our foster team works hard to provide many needed services for our rescued animals, but it is impossible to house-train each one. We ask for your understanding and commitment to continue her training in your home.

- We will schedule a phone/email interview and a virtual meet-and-greet.
- A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
- A trial adoption period will be arranged.
- The adoption fee will be finalized prior to transport and includes spay/neuter, all vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test, and health certificate.
- A transport fee of $400.00 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure.
Transportation
Cookie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, and is ready to travel to the East Coast and Pacific Northwest if adopted.
