Meet Malouk! This distinguished 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd is a gentle soul with a loving heart, ready to offer quiet companionship. Malouk came to us after a difficult loss, and after a period where he wasn't receiving the care he needed, he was surrendered to give him the chance at a safe, loving life he truly deserves. Now, he's eagerly awaiting a home where he can be cherished.

This sweet senior is blind, but his resilience shines through as he navigates his world. He still finds joy in life's simple pleasures: leisurely walks, long naps, and plenty of treats! Occasionally, a playful spark ignites within him. Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he feels safe and settled. He would be perfectly content as an only pet, but he also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can be easily startled due to his blindness. He is incredibly friendly with people and has a soft spot for children, making him a wonderful, gentle presence for the right family.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key home where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly happy as an only pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and even cats who understand he spooks easily due to being blind. He has a soft spot for kids.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind. Because of his blindness, he can experience some anxiety, but he does very well with calming medication and a consistent environment.

Training & Support

He is potty trained, though he may mark indoors (he was only recently neutered), and belly bands have been a simple, effective solution. He will also need continued leash training, as he can pull, especially when he's excited or unsure. Malouk finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone. He does well with calming medication and a consistent environment.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it's the perfect fit.
