Oliver is an 11-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who is 100 pounds of happiness, enthusiasm, and questionable spatial awareness. Oliver came to us as a baby with detached retinas and other serious vision issues. We fixed what could be fixed, and thanks to surgery, care, and the fact that veterinary medicine is occasionally miraculous, Oliver can now see. He has responded by deciding the entire world is amazing and everyone in it is his friend. Oliver loves people, dogs, and life! He would also love cats, which is precisely why he cannot live with them. His love comes in the form of giant puppy enthusiasm, and cats, as a general rule, do not appreciate being adored by something the size of patio furniture. Oliver is well-mannered in the house, rides well in the car, and is an absolutely excellent dog. He is sweet, social, affectionate, and deeply committed to the belief that playtime is a legitimate lifestyle.
Ideal Home
Oliver would be happiest with another active, playful dog who wants a best friend and will not be personally offended by a large teenage dog doing large teenage dog things. Oliver needs a fenced yard. The world is his oyster, his playground, and possibly his kingdom, and you cannot contain this much joy with good intentions and a leash. He needs a safe place to run, play, supervise, celebrate, and generally be Oliver. This is an outstanding dog for a home with kids over 8.
