Meet Grover Chillington!
Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston. He was sadly added to the euthanasia list after only a few weeks, but thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in to save him. Grover is truly pure perfection, and we're so grateful he's with us!
Grover is the epitome of chill. Initially, he was thought to be around 6 years old due to his calm demeanor, but multiple vet checks suggest he's more likely 2-3 years old, and definitely no older than 3. Weighing in at about 48 pounds, he's the ideal medium size – a very good boy with an old soul.
He adores spending time with his people and thrives when he's part of the action. Whether it's lounging in the backyard, joining you for a leisurely neighborhood walk, or claiming the coziest spot for a nap, Grover is happy. He enjoys exploring the outdoors but isn't a high-energy athlete. A few daily walks and quality time with his family are all he needs to be content. His current foster family has a farm, and even with free rein, Grover always stays within sight of his foster dad. He's as well-behaved off-leash as he is on.
Grover is fully house-trained and has excellent house manners. He settles in nicely indoors, gets along with everyone he meets, is not destructive, and appreciates a comfy bed after his daily adventures. His ideal forever home would offer plenty of love, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. He can be a little shy at first, but within minutes, he's rolling over for belly rubs.
Grover has done well with other dogs, farm animals, and enjoys making new friends. He has a gentle, friendly nature and quickly wins over people and animals with his charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but it's anyone's guess! He's not a big barker and is lower energy, so if those are indeed his breeds, he's a true unicorn in a dog's body.
Grover is currently finishing up heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to his forever home in July. He is truly the easiest, most loving guy around, and whoever adopts him will be hitting the rescue dog jackpot – he is impossible not to love!
Ideal Home
An ideal home would include lots of lovies, a soft place to sleep, and people who enjoy having a devoted canine companion by their side.

Grover is finishing up heartworm treatment. He is fully vaccinated, on prevention, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
Grover is fully house-trained and has excellent house manners. He is not destructive and settles nicely indoors.
