Meet Coco, a classic Golden girl with a smart mind and a loyal heart! Coco is everything people love about Golden Retrievers — sweet, intelligent, and deeply connected to her people. At 8-9 years old and about 113 lbs, she's past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of life, love, and personality to give. Coco was surrendered to a trusted rescue friend and then brought safely into our care to find the loving home she truly deserves. She's currently in a foster home where she's shown herself to be a little shadow, following her foster mom everywhere, though the stairs can be a bit tricky. She handled storms well, becoming a little extra clingy, and loves her new favorite toy, carrying it everywhere. While she's not a big fan of walks, she's been getting her steps in on the stairs and showing improvement! Coco is a huge fan of affection, especially being brushed. She handled her bath well, and while she's not a fan of nail trims, she's super cuddly and loves to be close to her people. She greets her foster mom with a toy every day and is very patient and good with children. Coco is a great girl about pottying outside, never barks inappropriately, and doesn't chew things she shouldn't. She loves to greet people when they return home but doesn't like watching them leave.

Ideal Home

Coco would thrive in a home that understands her, respects her boundaries, and appreciates the depth that comes with a mature dog. She may get irritated by small dogs that bark excessively.

Coco has some mild storm anxiety.

Training & Support

Coco is housebroken and crate trained. She knows basic commands, including how to shake/paw, and walks nicely on a leash. She can be a bit difficult to convince when there's no space to cuddle because she's a big dog! Coco can have food/treat-related guarding, so structure is important. She's clever enough to open doors, so she'll benefit from a secure setup.
