Vanna

Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! This sweet girl is a true "velcro dog," thriving on close companionship. She's playful, affectionate, and happiest right by your side, whether you're home or adventuring out. Vanna enjoys a good game of fetch and car rides, making her an enthusiastic travel buddy. She's also trusted to roam freely in the house, showing no destructive tendencies when she's near her favorite people.

Ideal Home

Vanna would thrive in an active home that can provide structure and reassurance. She is best suited as the only dog in the home, though she may do well with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) in a home without resource guarding triggers. She is not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but warms up to be friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space.

Ongoing Health

Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. She is still working through some challenges related to past trauma, including resource guarding of food, toys, and people.

Training & Support

Continued leash work and training are important for Vanna, especially regarding her reactivity on leash towards other dogs. She is still polishing up her potty training and may have occasional accidents. She is crate trained. Patience, consistency, and understanding will help her continue to grow and overcome her challenges.

Transporation

Vanna is currently located with our rescue partners and can be transported once approved. Transports run every few weeks. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
