Meet Chanel, a resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who, after a heartbreaking start, has blossomed into an energetic and happy dog. She was rescued from a euthanasia list at a crowded New Mexico shelter and brought to Texas for a second chance. Chanel is so resilient that she even donates blood to save other lives! While her transformation is incredible, she's still working on building her confidence and learning to trust.
Ideal Home
Chanel is searching for a patient family and would do best with a canine companion to help her rebuild her faith in humanity. She enjoys toys and balls, especially soft squeakers, but can get startled by loud noises and is still learning how to play. She needs a gentle, understanding environment where she can take things at her own pace and feel truly safe.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, and has been spayed. She is on flea and heartworm prevention and has been microchipped.
Training & Support
Chanel is still working through past trauma and can be flinchy when hands reach toward her. She will need continued gentle training and patience to help her overcome this. The team at Pura Sanguine has worked on her socialization through playgroups and one-on-one bonding, and she has also had some leash training and basic command work. Families should be prepared for ongoing training efforts and understanding.

Transportation
Chanel is located in Texas. She is available for transportation to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, LA. AZ is coming soon! Transport is provided via air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Pick-up day is an unforgettable experience, with the ability to follow along on the journey through a private Facebook Event page for photos, updates, and communication. An adoption coordinator will help find the closest transport pick-up location. For adopters in Texas, there is a flat rate fee of $250 for transportation within the state. For those picking up at our Angleton, TX location, the fee is $75. The adoption and transportation fee ranges from $100-$500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with financial responsibility on the adopted family.
