Oakley

Oakley is a gentle senior German Shepherd, approximately 10 years old, who is spayed and ready to find her forever home. After living with her previous owner for seven years, she was surrendered due to difficulties with apartment stairs. Despite this change, Oakley has proven to be a calm, affectionate, and incredibly easy companion. She loves to be close to her people, relax at home, and enjoy quiet moments. While long walks are no longer ideal, she still enjoys light playtime and especially loves when her ball is thrown for her. She is house-trained, leash-trained, smart, and responsive to guidance, knowing commands like "sit" and "heel." Oakley is very attentive and easy to live with.

Ideal Home

Oakley would thrive in a calm home with minimal stairs and plenty of soft places to rest. She is looking for people who appreciate the quiet loyalty and companionship that senior German Shepherds offer. She does experience anxiety when crated, so a home where crating is not necessary would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Oakley's age means her hips and joints may require some extra care, which was the reason for her previous owner's surrender.

Training & Support

Oakley is house-trained and leash-trained and knows basic commands. She is described as attentive and easy to live with. Her only noted behavioral challenge is anxiety when crated.
