Meet Vanna! This approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix is a true "velcro dog" with a heart as big as her personality. She's playful, affectionate, and loves nothing more than being by your side, whether you're home relaxing or out on an adventure. Vanna has medium energy and would be a fantastic companion for an active household. She enjoys games of fetch and going for walks, and she's a great car rider, making her ready for any outing you have planned. When she's at home, she's trusted to roam freely and is not destructive – she just wants to be close to her favorite people!
Ideal Home
Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and attention. She is best suited as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard or compete over. She is good with dog-savvy cats. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but warms up to be friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. Like many dogs who have experienced trauma, she is still working through some challenges and has experienced significant trauma.
Training & Support
Vanna is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people. Continued support with leash manners and training is important, as she can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave towards her. She is still polishing up her potty training and has occasional accidents. Vanna is crate trained. Patience, consistency, and understanding will help her continue to grow.
