Nona

Nona is a 1-year-old, 50 lb, spayed female Staffie mix who is as sweet as she is playful! Nona is entering her confident older puppy phase, soaking up the world and learning to channel her joyful energy into being the best girl. She's built like a little tank with a short, sturdy frame and an adorably front-heavy build, making it hilarious to watch her zoom around the yard or keep up with her long-legged foster siblings. Nona is a cuddly companion who loves to be near her people and greets them with enthusiastic wiggles and a happy tail. She's a social butterfly, enjoying strolls and meeting new friends, including a recent positive encounter with a small child. Nona's stubborn streak only adds to her charm; she's a clever girl who loves to problem-solve and will lovingly share her favorite toys (and sometimes her mouth!). She's highly motivated by toys and treats, making training a fun experience. Nona has mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners. She enjoys walks of 2-3 miles and is happy to explore new sights and smells. While she may not love car rides initially, she's a delightful companion once she arrives. Nona is crate and potty-trained, settling in beautifully overnight. She's a shy watchdog who will alert you to unfamiliar sounds or sights. Her most irresistible feature is her adorable underbite, which makes her goofy expressions even cuter. Nona is dog-friendly and gets along well with her foster siblings, but she would do best with a canine companion who respects personal space. While she hasn't been around cats or children in a home setting, her personality suggests she'd do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered children. Nona is expected to grow into a sturdy, medium-to-large-sized dog. Ideal Home

Nona would do best in a home with a confident canine friend who is respectful of her space and happy to share the spotlight, or as an only dog soaking up all the attention. She may do well in a home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy.

Training & Support

Nona is crate trained and potty-trained, with a routine that needs reinforcement. She is working on leash manners and can be a shy watchdog.

Transporation

Nona is currently being fostered in Texas. She can be transported out of state when matched with an approved adopter. Transport is included in the adoption donation and runs every few weeks.
