Papa John (PJ)

Meet Papa John, affectionately known as PJ! This sweet three-year-old boy has a story that will tug at your heart. He and Mama Mochi were found abandoned in a field of tall guinea grass in Hilo. Thanks to the kind efforts of animal control and Action 4 Animals, they are both now safe and thriving.

PJ is a soft-natured pup who is learning just how wonderful life can be. He can be shy at first and startles easily at loud noises, but he warms up quickly and is gaining confidence every day. At about 40 pounds, he is putting on healthy weight and truly loving life with his foster pack, which includes two silly Frenchies and a big mastiff mix who has become his best friend. PJ plays hard, trains happily, and walks like a dream on the leash. He's discovering routines, building trust, and showing more of his unique personality as he realizes he is finally safe. PJ is the perfect mix of sweetness, playfulness, and curiosity, and he's ready for an adopter who will celebrate his progress and give him the loving home he deserves.

Ideal Home

PJ is looking for a patient and loving home that will continue to help him build confidence. He's already thriving with his foster siblings, showing he can do well with other dogs.

PJ has been neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

PJ is house-trained and walks beautifully on a leash. He is food motivated and enjoys training sessions. He can be shy with new people and loud noises, so a home that can provide a calm and understanding environment will be ideal.
