About Lola : A Tragic Story of a Mama Dog

At just 2 years old, this sweet lab mix girl Lola has already overcome so much, yet she remains one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs you could ever meet. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston alongside her newborn puppies, she showed nothing but trust and kindness toward everyone around her, even while caring for her babies. Unfortunately, her puppies were taken away too quickly, and Lola found herself at risk of euthanasia. However, her calm, loving, and easygoing nature made her a staff favorite, and she was able to find help to leave the shelter.

Lola's foster family described her as "the best dog in the universe." She's quiet, well-mannered, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle. She settles beautifully into home life and simply enjoys being near her people. Lola currently lives with another dog and young children, and she does wonderfully with both. While she was best friends with their medium-sized pup and could free-roam with toddlers, she did not do well with very tiny animals. For the past two months, she has been living in a boarding facility where the staff adore her, describing her as an extremely smart and obedient pup who needs to find her special person. Lola weighs around 45 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion. Her calm and gentle presence would be a beautiful addition to almost any home, whether you're looking for a family dog, a loyal companion, or an easygoing best friend.

Ideal Home

A home with a yard that is adequately and fully fenced. Electric or underground fences are not accepted. Lola did not do well with very tiny animals.

Ongoing Health

Lola is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is kept on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee includes all vetting, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high-quality nylon Martingale collar, and a harness.

Training & Support

Lola is described as obedient. However, it's noted she did not do well with very tiny animals, which will require careful management and guidance in a new home.
