Mason

Mason is a 6-month-old, 32-pound Miniature American Shepherd mix who came into our care on June 11. He spent his early puppyhood in a concrete kennel, unsure of new experiences like leashes and crates. Initially, he would urinate submissively when worried, but with patience and positive reinforcement, he has blossomed! Now, Mason happily goes into his crate for meals, has integrated beautifully with the other dogs at the rescue, and is learning to come when called. He's an eager learner who clearly wants to please his people.

Ideal Home

Mason would thrive in a home with someone experienced in training young dogs or someone enthusiastic about continuing his training journey. A confident and playful canine companion would be a great addition to his home, as he looks to his best friend, Patty, for reassurance. A securely fenced yard is a must for him to safely expend his puppy energy. We do ask that Mason be in a cat-free home, as he would likely enjoy the chase too much.

Ongoing Health

Mason is fully vetted and is up-to-date on his monthly preventatives.

Training & Support

Mason is crate-trained and house-trained, and he's also trustworthy when left out of his crate for short periods. He's working on his confidence and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and a patient approach as he continues to learn and grow.

Mason is located in our rescue. We adopt to multiple states and can arrange safe transport for out-of-state adopters with trusted transport partners.
