About Lucy Lou the Freckled Lovebottom Cutie
There is just something about Lucy Lou. Maybe it's the little freckles sprinkled across her nose. Maybe it's the way she looks at you with those big soulful eyes. Or maybe it's the fact that she gives some of the sweetest cuddles we've ever seen. This little girl loves to climb right onto your chest, tuck her head onto your shoulder, and settle in as if she's giving you the world's longest hug. It's impossible not to melt when she does it.
Lucy Lou is approximately 5 months old, weighs around 25 lbs, and we believe she may be an American Bully mix. With rescue, it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. She's a little thing with big dog features packed into one adorable body. She still has some growing left to do, but we don't expect her to get dramatically bigger. Exactly how big she'll end up is anyone's guess, but right now she's the perfect size for couch cuddles.
Lucy is one of those puppies that feels like she came into the world with an old soul. She's incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. While most puppies her age are busy causing chaos, Lucy is usually busy finding the coziest spot in the house for a nap. Her foster jokes that she's always sleeping, and honestly, it's kind of true. If you're working from home, there's a good chance Lucy will be curled up nearby dreaming about snacks, toys, or her future family.
When she is awake, she's happy entertaining herself with toys and doesn't need constant attention to stay occupied. She has a wonderfully easygoing nature that makes her a really enjoyable companion to have around. She's the type of puppy that just fits into your day rather than demanding that your entire day revolve around her.
Lucy is currently fostered with two small senior dogs and absolutely adores them. One of the cutest things about her is how often they're found snuggled up together on the couch. She has also met larger dogs and done well with them too. Since she's mostly lived around smaller dogs, she can be a little shy with bigger dogs at first, but once she realizes they're friendly she's happy to coexist and make new friends.
She is also fostered with two cats and has been wonderful with them. In fact, when she met our house cat for the first time, she walked right up looking genuinely excited to see another kitty friend. It was incredibly sweet and she handled herself beautifully. If you have cats at home, Lucy definitely deserves a look.
Ideal Home
Lucy is pretty flexible. We could see her thriving in a home with a backyard, but we could also see her doing really well in an apartment or condo setting. As long as she has people to love, a few toys, a comfy place to nap, and plenty of cuddles, she's a happy girl. We haven't had the opportunity to see Lucy with children yet, but based on how gentle, affectionate, and easygoing she is, we think she has the potential to be a wonderful family dog. If you have children and would like to see how she does, we'd be happy to arrange a meet and greet.
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns were mentioned.
Training & Support
Lucy is doing great with potty training and has mostly figured it out. Every three hours seems to be her sweet spot and she's been very successful with that routine. She also sleeps in her own room at night and is so quiet that her foster says it's easy to forget she's even there. No messes. No destruction. No late-night puppy parties.
