Forest 2200

Hi there, I'm Forest! I'm a shy but sweet Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, about 2 years old and weighing around 70 pounds. I may be a little reserved when we first meet, preferring to take my time to feel comfortable. But once I know you, I transform into a goofy, affectionate, and incredibly loyal companion who loves nothing more than a good snuggle. My foster family says my happy dances are a sight to behold – I get so excited I look like a baby fawn learning to walk!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a patient family who understands that building trust takes time. A quiet home with a secure fence (at least 5 feet high) would be ideal. I also really thrive with another confident, friendly dog who can be my brave buddy and show me the ropes. While I tend to warm up to women first, I know with kindness and time, I can build a strong bond with the right man too. I'm not the dog for you if you're looking for someone who greets every stranger with enthusiasm, but I promise to be a devoted best friend to the person who earns my heart. I am not a fan of cats.

I am a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

I'm a smart cookie and already know "sit," "down," and "wait." I love learning new things and responding to praise and treats. I'm also house-trained and kennel-trained, and my kennel is my safe space where I can relax when I need to. I'll come out to meet visitors when I feel ready.
