Cleo

Cleo is a sweet 4-year-old Labrador mix, weighing around 30 lbs. She was rescued in November 2023 after being hit by a car and suffering a leg fracture. While her leg healed with a slight crookedness, she has no special needs and is perfectly happy and healthy. Cleo is described as loyal, grateful, shy at first, loving, calm, well-behaved, and simply happy to be alive! She is also good in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained.

Ideal Home

Cleo would thrive in a home that is willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to fully show their personality. An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking would be a great fit. She needs a home with a fenced backyard and owners who understand the needs of rescued street animals and are patient and dedicated to their education and protection. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued pups. Cleo is not yet house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Cleo is spayed/neutered and has received DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. She has also been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm and other common tick-borne diseases. She is currently on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Cleo is not yet house-trained and will need continued patience and consistency in this area. She is good on leash, in the car, and crate trained, which are excellent starting points for further training and integration into her new home.

Transporation

Cleo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast via an upcoming cross-country transport. Transport is available to the adopter's home address for an additional fee.
