Diesel

Meet Diesel! This handsome 71 lb, 5-year-old boy is a true miracle. Diesel was found with no use of his back legs after being hit by a car, but thanks to a generous donation, he has a custom wheelchair that will go to his forever home! He's good with kids, other dogs, and can be cat tested. While he used to live outside, he's now living inside and doing wonderfully, even with a 5-year-old in the house. His tail had to be partially amputated due to chewing, but he's off all medications and happy as can be. He's had a great report from his dog trainer and deserves a loving home to call his own.

Ideal Home

Diesel is good with kids and other dogs, and can be cat tested. He is currently living inside and doing great, but may need some patience and a routine to adjust to indoor living if he hasn't already.

Ongoing Health

Diesel had his last surgery for his tail and is now off all medications. He is on Dasuquin joint supplements. He may still need his wheelchair during periods of fatigue or for longer activities. He has a healed fracture/luxation in his lumbar spine and tail trauma.

Training & Support

Diesel is great with kids and other dogs. He can be a bit mouthy when showing affection, giving "love bites" where his teeth might touch. It's recommended to sit on the floor with him for affection to prevent him from potentially slipping when trying to get closer. His new family will be taught how to properly use his wheelchair.

Transporation

Diesel is located in Sweetwater, TN and transport may be available. If you are able to pick him up, it would be best for him to allow for frequent stretching during travel.
