Meet Nesta, a 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart of gold and a spirit ready to bloom! This 50-pound girl was rescued with her family from under an abandoned house, and while she's come a long way, she's still a bit of a shy woodland creature at heart. Once she trusts you, though, she blossoms into a playful, loving best friend who will look up at you with the sweetest puppy-dog eyes. She's incredibly smart and picks up new cues quickly, already mastering "sit." While she can be a little timid with loud noises, she's a master of the crate and is fully potty-trained, making her an easy companion once she feels secure.
Ideal Home
Nesta would thrive in a home with patience, structure, and another playful dog to help her feel safe and confident. She does best with slow introductions to new dogs and loves to match their energy during play. She would prefer a home without cats and is best suited for older children who can be respectful of her gentle, timid nature. She's not reactive to strangers but needs a moment to observe before joining in. Nesta would love a backyard to play in and a calm, structured environment where she can decompress and build trust. She is not suited for first-time dog owners due to her sensitive nature.
Ongoing Health
Nesta is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.
Training & Support
Nesta is fully potty and crate trained. She can be hesitant and timid on leash, and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and gentle guidance to build her confidence. While she can be initially shy, she responds well to patience and routine. She is smart and learns quickly, so continued training will be a rewarding experience.
