Velvet is a 5-year-old, 52lb brown brindle and white sweetheart who is looking for her forever home! Velvet's veterinarian noted how polite she is, and it's true! She's the sweetest and most loving pup, patiently waiting for attention and for her food. The only thing she's not patient about is a potential trip to the park – that's when her excited puppy energy takes over! Velvet adores tennis balls, soccer balls, squeaky toys (she's a pro at removing the squeaker!), fetch, and tug of war. Her tail wags with gusto when she's happy!
Velvet loves to run but is also a fantastic work-from-home companion. She's attended many Zoom meetings and listened in on countless work calls, often lounging for surprising amounts of time. At night, she's a cuddler, sleeping in bed and occasionally snoring adorably while dreaming of paddling paws. She's not a picky eater and takes her medication with no issues. Velvet is making great strides on the subway, remaining peaceful and patient, and her brindle coat guarantees plenty of public attention! She knows about 20 commands and is working on "privacy" and "slow" when going down stairs. Velvet is ready to learn and will need a patient person with time for training. Slow introductions to new people and places will help her feel safe. She loves pets and snuggles and requires daily physical activity to stay healthy and happy!
