Ferrari is a charming 3-year-old, 50-pound pup with medium energy and a heart full of love! He's a big fan of napping, soaking up the sun, and keeping his humans company while they go about their day. His foster family believes he's great with dogs, cats, and kids, as he politely ignores the resident cats and enthusiastically greets the school bus, a sure sign of his past experience with children. Ferrari is generally quiet and calm, springing to life for walks and meal times. He's working on his separation anxiety with his foster family, but he's a good boy who only chews his toys and has never damaged anything in the house. He knows several commands like "sit" and "lie down" and is eager to learn more. While he's still perfecting his leash manners, he's making great progress! Ferrari absolutely adores car rides, receiving hugs, and meeting new people – he treats everyone like an old friend. He enjoys long hikes and even has his own backpack to carry his water, though he can get overheated easily, so he'll need some protection when the temperature rises above 80°F. He's also happy to relax in his crate if you need to head out for an activity.
Ideal Home
Ferrari would be a wonderful companion for a busy family or someone who spends most of their day at home. He's already house-trained and crate-trained, although he may cry when left alone for short periods.
Ongoing Health
Ferrari can get overheated easily, so he'll need a cooling vest or other protective clothing when it's above 80°F, along with plenty of water.
Training & Support
Ferrari knows basic commands and is eager to learn more. He's working on his leash skills and separation anxiety, and a calm, reassuring voice can help him settle when he's feeling anxious.
