Sampson

My name is Sampson, and I'm a sweet, approximately 2-year-old pittie/Great Dane mix. My journey to find a loving home has been a tough one, as I was abandoned and faced neglect. Thankfully, kind people and dedicated volunteers showed me patience and offered me treats, which eventually helped me to trust them and accept rescue. Now, I'm safe, warm, and ready to heal and find my forever family. I'm working on reaching a healthy weight before starting heartworm treatment. While I have some hearing loss in one ear due to past trauma, and my ears were likely cropped with dull scissors, I'm learning that humans can be incredibly kind and loving. Despite my past, I'm a gentle, affectionate, and eager-to-please boy who is also dog-friendly.

Ideal Home

Sampson is a dog-friendly boy who is eager to please. He is still learning to trust humans after his past experiences, so a patient and loving home will be key to his continued healing and happiness.

Ongoing Health

Sampson is currently underweight and will be undergoing heartworm treatment once he reaches a healthy weight. He also has some hearing loss in one ear due to a past head injury.

Training & Support

Sampson is eager to please and has shown himself to be dog-friendly. Further socialization and continued positive reinforcement will help him continue to build confidence and trust.
